In ancient Egypt, this palindromic word was used to describe the primordial ocean, personified by the god Nun. According to myth, the lotus rose from this water – a flower that closed in the darkness of the night only to open its petals again when the light returned. In its bloom, the sun god Atum emerged, giving the lotus a strong connection to the cycle of life and rebirth.
The fragrance begins with this ancient tale and evolves with the first light of day, as its aromatic nuances spread and come to life. It is created as a tribute to the lotus – a flower loaded with symbolism and history.
The composition opens with fresh citrus accords, where a soft touch of pear adds rounded sweetness. In the heart, lotus blooms together with jasmine and ylang-ylang, before the scent lands in a warm base of woody notes, amber and musk.
