How to put out a fire with a fire blanket:
Remove the blanket from its holder.
Shake out the blanket and place it carefully over the fire. Do not throw the blanket over the burning object as this will give the fire more oxygen.
Press firmly on the burning object to smother the fire. Work from the center outwards. Be careful not to hit the blanket as this will allow more air in.
Continue until you are absolutely sure the fire is out. Leave the blanket over the burnt object for 20 minutes.
If the fire blanket is used in a fire, it is used up and should be discarded and replaced with a new one.
