Børge Mogensen was born in 1914 (died 1972) and during his career he created a range of iconic furniture, including sofas, chairs and tables. His design philosophy focused on creating practical and useful furniture for everyday life, and he often used natural materials such as wood and leather in his creations. Mogensen was also influenced by the Scandinavian design tradition and emphasized simplicity, functionality and sustainability in his work. Mogensen designed the "Øresund" model during the 1950s, which was a period when he created many of his most iconic pieces of furniture.
